Taco John’s returns to Clarksville on May 31, with a year of Olés for the first 100 guests

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Taco John’s is set to open its new location in Clarksville, with a grand opening on Tuesday that will feature Austin State University cheerleaders Peay along with the Governor and a year of Olés for the first 100 guests.

Located on Riverside Drive, Clarksville’s first Taco John’s in many years will feature digital menu boards, free Wi-Fi and double drive-thru, according to a press release.

The official groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on May 31, with special guests from APSU. The first 100 visitors will receive a golden ticket valid for a free small order of potato oles every week for a year. Potato olés are round bite-sized pieces of crunchy potatoes sprinkled with a signature spice blend, according to the release.

At one point in the 1990s, Clarksville had two Taco John’s locations, one at 1018 S. Riverside Drive and the other at 1461 Fort Campbell Blvd., according to Leaf-Chronicle records. The new location will be at the other end of Riverside at 955 N. Riverside Drive. It will be the fifth Taco John’s in Tennessee and the 373rd systemwide.

“We are very pleased to continue to grow our presence in Tennessee and to open our first location in Clarksville,” said franchisee Kevin Newell. “We chose this location because of its proximity to popular neighborhoods such as Austin Peay University, McGregor Park and the Cumberland Riverwalk. We think this will be the perfect destination for the community to come together and enjoy our bold approach to Mexican cuisine before heading out on an adventure.

Taco John’s will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to midnight. Breakfast will be served daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
