Road report for the Paris district of July 25, 2022

Paris, Texas — Here’s a look at planned work in Fannin and Grayson counties for the week beginning July 25, 2022. These times are subject to change due to weather, equipment failure, or other unforeseen problems. Motorists are urged to remain alert and pay close attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and to reduce speed when approaching and passing through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.

Sherman Region (Fannin, Grayson counties)

US 75, Grayson County: from FM 1417 to SH 91 (Texoma Parkway). Watch for shoulder closures and lane changes on the northbound and southbound US 75 mainlines between SH 91 and FM 1417 as crews work to build new mainlines, bridges and retaining walls. Watch for lane closures on feeder roads between FM 1417 and SH 91. A reduced speed limit of 60 mph on US 75 mainlines has been set for this construction project.

Lamar Street and Houston Street below US 75 are closed to through traffic with detour signs in place to guide motorists around this intersection.

Eastbound traffic from Lamar Street will turn right onto southbound US 75 Frontage Road, turn left onto Center Street, and turn left onto northbound US 75 Frontage Road back to eastbound Lamar Street . The video animation of this detour can be seen at the following link.

Westbound traffic from Houston Street will turn right onto northbound US 75 Frontage Road, turn left onto Washington Street, and turn left onto southbound US 75 Frontage Road back to Houston Street heading west. The video animation of this detour can be seen at the following link.

These switches will allow crews to rebuild the proposed US 75 mainlines and bridge over Lamar and Houston streets. Northbound US 75 frontage road traffic is reduced to one lane of traffic, but two lanes of traffic remain for northbound US 75 mainline traffic. For southbound US 75, frontage traffic is reduced to one lane of traffic, but two lanes of traffic remain for traffic on the main lane of southbound US 75. US 75, Grayson County: At the US 82 intersection. Watch for shoulder closures on the northbound and southbound US 75 main lanes between South Loy Lake Road and Lamberth Street as crews work to construct new ramps exit and entry. Watch for shoulder closures and lane changes on the main US 82 eastbound and westbound lanes between FM 131 and Loy Lake Road as crews work to construct new exit and entrance ramps. Watch for lane closures and lane changes for feeder roads at the US 75 and US 82 intersection as crews work to construct new feeder roads.

FM 1417, Grayson County: US 82 to SH 56. Watch for lane changes and shoulder closures between US 82 and SH 56 as crews construct the new roadway. The ultimate roadway will be a four-lane divided section with turning lanes. A reduced speed limit of 45 mph has been set for this construction project. The closing of the Taylor Street intersection with FM 1417 which was scheduled for this week has been postponed. Advance notice will be provided once a new date has been determined.

FM 2729, Grayson County: FM 902 to FM 121. Watch for lane closures during the day as workers make spot repairs to the roadway. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers and pilot cars direct traffic through the work zone.

FM 120, Grayson County: In Pottsboro, from Festival Park Street to Pottsboro High School driveway. Watch for lane closures during the day as crews work to build sidewalks and ramps.

FM 84, Grayson County: From US 75 to Harbor Road. Watch for lane closures during the day as workers pave the roadway with a thin surface of hot mix asphalt. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers and pilot cars direct traffic through the work zone.

Company US 377B, Grayson County: South of Whitesboro at the underpass near US 377. Watch for lane closures with signals controlling traffic as crews work to upgrade the bridge railing.

SH 5, Grayson County: In Van Alstyne along Newport Drive from Partin Elementary School to SH 5, and along SH 5 from Newport Drive to Forrest Moore Park. Construction of a new multi-use trail is underway. The project calls for the installation of a sidewalk at least eight feet wide along this stretch of road. Occasional lane closures will be required to complete work while this project is underway.

FM 121, Grayson County: Jim Jones Road to FM 3356. Watch for occasional lane closures during the day as crews work to complete remaining work on the project.

Full-Depth Concrete Repair of US 75, Grayson County: Crews will work on US 75 weekly from Sunday evening through Friday morning overnight. Lane closures will be present overnight for crews to replace failing concrete sections. Lane closures will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening and are expected to reopen to traffic at 6 a.m. This work will extend from the Collin-Grayson County line to the Oklahoma State line.

FM 1753, Grayson County: FM 120 to FM 1897. Watch for lane closures during the day as crews work to rehabilitate and then resurface the roadway.

FS 121 (Grayson Parkway), Grayson County: From the Collin County line to FM 121. Construction is underway on this new road which is west of SH 289 about four miles. The new roadway will be two lanes with shoulders and will be an extension of the frontage road of the Dallas North Tollway. Local traffic on CR 60 (Marilee Road) and Stiff Chapel Road should expect occasional roadwork at these intersections, with flaggers present to control traffic. Work on FM 121 at the FS 121 intersection (formerly the Scharff Road intersection) continues as crews work to widen the roadway to add turning lanes. Motorists on FM 121 should expect lane closures during the day as crews widen the roadway and install a culvert.

US 377, Grayson County: Willis Bridge to Oklahoma state line. Watch for occasional lane closures on the existing bridge as workers pour concrete for the new bridge structure.

US 75 Debris Pickup, Grayson County: Collin County line to Oklahoma state line. Watch for moving lane closures as workers clear roadway debris every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday night.

US 377D Company, Grayson County: In Tioga, US 377 to US 377. Watch for lane closures during the day as maintenance crews seal the pavement. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers and pilot cars direct traffic through the work zone.

FM 996, Grayson County: in Pottsboro, from FM 1417 to FM 120. Watch for lane closures during the day as maintenance crews seal the pavement. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers and pilot cars direct traffic through the work zone.

CR 3315 at Allen Creek, Fannin County. The bridge over CR 3315 at Allen Creek is closed to through traffic in order to replace the bridge. During this closure, traffic is asked to take the CR 3310 as a diversion.

SH 34, Fannin County: FM 64 to FM 1550. Watch for occasional lane closures during the day as workers construct the new SH 34 Bridge over the future Lake Ralph Hall.

FM 1552, Fannin County: SH 78 to County Road 3710. Watch for temporary lane closures as workers rehabilitate and widen the roadway.

FM 898, Fannin County: Grayson County line to SH 121. Watch for temporary lane closures while workers rehabilitate and widen the roadway.

FM 824, Fannin County: SH 56 in Honey Grove at the Lamar County line. Watch for temporary lane closures while workers rehabilitate and widen the roadway.

FM 1550, Fannin County: County Road 3330 to SH 34. Watch for temporary lane closures as workers rehabilitate and widen the roadway.

SH 121, Fannin County: From the Collin County line to SH 56. Watch for temporary day lane closures and shoulder closures as workers install angled end treatments on pipes and install guards -body.

US 82, Fannin County: From SH 121 to the Lamar County line. Watch for slow-moving construction equipment as crews work to re-establish vegetation on the project. Watch for occasional lane closures during the day while crews complete remaining work.

US 69, Fannin County: SH 78 to SH 121. Watch for lane closures during the day as crews work hot mix at the blade on the roadway. Motorists should expect delays as flaggers and pilot cars direct traffic through the work zone.
