Mohammad Al Kashem has been appointed managing director of Coats Bangladesh Ltd, a press release read.
He was previously Managing Director of Coats Pakistan. Prior to that, he held the position of Manufacturing Manager at Coats Bangladesh. Kashem joined Coats in 2016.
Kashem said, “I am honored and thrilled to be offered this role. It is a privilege to be part of the exciting journey of Coats Bangladesh as we accelerate and expand to support the garment industries – the lifeline of Bangladesh’s exports. We have a market-leading position coupled with a strong strategy, a positive culture and a talented team and we will continue to create long-term sustainable value for all of our stakeholders.”
Kashem has nearly 20 years of experience in leadership roles in manufacturing, general management and human resources functions in multinational companies, as well as local industrial conglomerates.
He graduated in Industrial and Production Engineering from BUET and holds an Executive MBA from North-South University.
Coats Bangladesh Ltd is a joint venture between Coats and AK Khan & Company Ltd. The Coats Bangladesh operation has supported the country’s ready-to-wear industry for over three decades by providing the highest quality yarns and value-added technical services. It has two world-class manufacturing plants in Gazipur and Chittagong.
