CarmelFest returns this weekend as the Hoosiers prepare to celebrate Independence Day.

This year marks the return of the parade, which was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Here’s what you need to know about CarmelFest 2021:

When and where does CarmelFest take place?

CarmelFest is Sunday July 4 and Monday July 5 in Carmel, Indiana. The festival takes place on Carter Green and One Civic Square.

How much does it cost?

CarmelFest is free for anyone wishing to attend, according to the festival site.

When is the parade?

The CarmelFest parade is scheduled for Monday July 5 at 10:30 am. The parade will take place rain or shine, according to the festival site.

The show will be broadcast live on the CBS4 Indy Facebook page from 9.45am, according to the CarmelFest website.

When will the fireworks display?

Fireworks are scheduled for Sunday July 4 and Monday July 5 at 9.45 p.m.

Sunday’s fireworks are expected to be fired from West Park in the west of town and Badger Field in the east of town.

Monday’s fireworks, which mark the end of CarmelFest, will be fired from 3rd Avenue Southwest and Industrial Drive.

Which roads will close?

The following roads will be closed this weekend:

  • Gradle training: Closed to all vehicular traffic between Range Line Road and 3rd Avenue from Saturday at 8 a.m. to Tuesday at 8 a.m.
  • 3rd Avenue South-West: Closed to all traffic between Autumn Drive and Industrial Drive from 9:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. due to the fireworks display.

The following roads will be closed on Monday due to the parade:

  • Carmel walk: Closed to all traffic between Keystone Parkway and Range Line Road from 10 a.m.
  • Row line road: Closed to all vehicular traffic between Carmel Drive and City Center Drive from 10:15 a.m. and between City Center Drive and Main Street from 10:30 a.m.
  • Main Street: Closed to all vehicular traffic between Range Line Road and Lexington Blvd from 10:40 a.m.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in city garages, parking lots and city streets. Park only on private lots or in commercial parking lots with owners permission, according to the City of Carmel.
